THE HEMERAPOSEIDON™ SYSTEM:

How it works

The HemeraPoseidon™ system consists of two components, a Hemera™ Jet-washing Tool and a Hemera™ Jet-Cementing Tool.

The Hemera™ Jet-washing Tool is used to wash and clean out movable debris, e.g. barite, formation, cement traces, in the annuli behind the perforated casing. It features jet-nozzles which are positioned at irregular angles and engineered for optimum configuration and exit velocity. The jets penetrate and clean thoroughly behind (multiple) perforated casing(s).

The Hemera™ Jet-washing Tool ensures optimum conditions in the casing annuli prior to placing the plugging material in the cross section. Debris, old mud, barite and old cuttings are replaced by clean mud.

Using a ball drop mechanism after the washing sequence, the Hemera™ Jet-cementing Tool is activated. Plugging material is placed in the entire cross section of multiple annuli, and hence, establishing a proper barrier in the well for P&A or sidetrack purposes.

The HemeraPoseidon™ is the better alternative to a cup-based PWC® operation in a low mudweight and low annular debris environment.

Operation

The operation can be run as a 1-trip operation with TCP guns hanging below the HemeraPoseidon BHA.

In general after completing a perforating run with low SPF  (±12 SPF) low EHD (0.5" EHD) charges in the target zone, the HemeraPoseidon™ PWC® System is run in hole to the top of the perforated section. The HydraHemera™ Bull Nose allows for circulation while running in hole. A ball is dropped which activates the Hemera™ jet-washing nozzles. Clean low-density fluid/mud is pumped which exits the jet-washing nozzles as high energy jets, thoroughly cleaning behind the casing(s). A second ball drop activates the cementing nozzles in the Hemera™ Jet-cementing Tool, which feature flow area optimized for cement / plugging material. Cement is pumped while rotating the assembly, and the cement is placed efficiently into the intermediate and outer annuli.
